Pachmarhi has been harmonized the status of Queen Satpura hill range. Heart capturing waterfalls, scenic sites, large mountain range and lush green hillocks stretch over 60 sq. km in dramatic natural splendor. It is the most visited hill station of India.

Pachmarhi Hill Station is situated at the height of 3555 feet from sea level. Pachmarhi is mostly visited during Diwali, New-year eve and summer vacation times. Pachmarhi has all characteristics of scenic beauty of Nature. Waterfalls, streams, wild-life and presence of some rare species of medicinal plants has made it most picturesque tourist spot of Madhya Pradesh.

How to reach Pachmarhi :-

The nearest Airport to Pachmarhi is Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport about 200kms. and Jabalpur’s Dumna Airport about 250kms. away from Pachmarhi. Nearest railway station to Pachmarhi is Pipariya railway station which is about 52 kms away from Pachmarhi. Pipariya railway station is on Howrah-Mumbai main line and almost all passing-by trains use to stop here. Transfer from Pipariya to Pachmarhi often poses question mark in mind of visitors but it is not a problem at all. Private public carrier Jeeps and Buses are available at Pipariya Railway Station all the time for transfers to Pachmarhi and vice versa at reasonable charges. Surface connectivity of Pachmarhi is also very good as it is well connected with Jabalpur, Bhopal, Nagpur and Chindwara. Nagpur is about 250 kms from Pachmarhi.

Pachmarhi Town :-

Pachmarhi is a small town and most of its area is under Pachmarhi Cantonment. Cantonment was established in year 1872. Civilian town of Pachmarhi is small and towards the tip of lake. Most of the civilian area is driven by tourism activities like offering hotels to visitors, selling gift-items etc. There is no big shopping-malls or large hotels in Pachmarhi. Most of the hotels of Pachmarhi are small of approximately 15 to 30 rooms offers only vegetarian meals. Shop-keepers mostly offers small gift items like marble items, jute-items, wooden gift items etc.. Main customers for them are tourists and families of Army personals. When heat waves makes life tough in cities, soothing breeze serenely flows across Pachmarhi.

During Rainy season Pachmarhi becomes like a newly wed bride. Tourists staying at the cottages have to entertain the clouds as guests and enjoy their company. There is greenery all around, the chirping of birds creates a magic of its own kind. Nature is at its best in Pachmarhi where the beauty of nature never gets fade. Here you can enjoy Para gliding, trekking, and adventurous cycle ride. Pachmarhi is the only hill station in Madhya Pradesh. Unlike Kashmir, Shimla, mussourie Pachmarhi is no widely known. Lack of railway connectivity and longer distance from the metro cities, the beauty is still a hidden treasure. It has fame only inside the boundaries of Madhya Pradesh. It came into news when the leading personality of India the former President Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Ram Manohar Lohiya, Jai Prakash Narayan started visiting Pachmarhi.
