Dhoopgarh — The Highest Point

Dhoopgarh is the highest point in the Satpura Range, offering a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain ranges that stretches as far as the eye can see. Previously known as Harvatsa Kot, this legendary destination has captivated travellers for centuries.

The elevation stands at 4,429 feet (1,352 m) above mean sea level, making it the highest peak not just in Pachmarhi but in all of Madhya Pradesh. From this lofty vantage point, visitors can witness the breathtaking expanse of the Satpura Range unfolding in every direction.

Dhoopgarh is a very popular spot for viewing sunrises and sunsets. Visitors experience something "unique beyond verbal expression" when witnessing the sun rise or set from this vantage point — the sky transforms into a canvas of crimson, gold and purple as the sun dips below or rises above the hills.

The trek to the summit is itself a rewarding experience, passing through dense forests of sal and teak trees with the sounds of birdsong accompanying every step. The air at the summit is crisp and cool even in the warmest months.
